At Des-Mar, the health, happiness and well being of each of our puppies are very important to us.
We believe that potential show/pet companion homes should fully consider all the aspect of owning a Siberian Husky.
We ask that you take a few minutes of your time to fill out the following questionnaire below.
The questions will help us to determine the right dog for you as well as the best home for the dog.
We ask that you answer all questions as completely as possible. We will contact you within a few days of receiving your application.
Do not buy a puppy on impulse. Remember, you are making a commitment for the life of the dog.
We do the necessary health screening such as hips x-rayed after the age of two years.
Most are OFA certified "Excellent" or "Good" (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals).
Eyes are checked yearly by a Board Certified Ophthalmologist for any hereditary eye defects:
SHOR Siberian Husky Ophthalmologist Registry
Our Siberian Husky & Shiba Inu puppies are available after the screening process has been done. It is very important to us where each and every one of our dogs go when they leave our home. We raise our puppies with children, which helps give us great temperaments, mental stability and more advance socialized puppies. This is only a screening tool, we will personally answer each and every inquiry we receive.
We reserve the right to refuse the sale of any puppy to any person we feel will not be a suitable home for that puppy.
If you wish to reserve a puppy from a current or upcoming litter, we ask for a $300.00 deposit to reserve a puppy, of which the deposit applies towards the purchase price of the puppy and is non-refundable should the buyer change his/her mind.
We breed puppies for the betterment of the breed and for the continuation of our breeding program. Therefore, we have 1st choice from any breeding. Puppies are evaluated at between 6-8 weeks of age. Dew claws are removed on all puppies.
Blue Eyes are not something we breed specifically for in the Siberian Husky, and as such, we don't anticipate having puppies with blue eyes. The eye color does not increase or decrease the value of the dog. We breed for health, temperament, and structure in accordance to the breed standard as excepted by the Siberian Husky Club of America.
Puppies that are placed in companion homes, are sold on a spay/neuter contract, and must spayed or neutered by 1 year of age. These puppies are sold with an AKC limited registration, and are eligible to compete in all AKC events, except conformation. Companion puppies are guaranteed against becoming crippled from hip displease as diagnosed by veterinarian x-ray, or blinded from a hereditary eye disease as diagnosed by an ACVO veterinarian. This guarantee is limited to hereditary defects, and does not include conditions of the hips or eyes caused by accident, trauma, or the normal aging of the dog.
Puppies that are placed in show/breeding homes will be offered a replacement puppy if the dog is diagnosed as having an hereditary eye defect or Hip Dysplasia which makes it unsuitable for breeding. Eyes should be checked by age 1 and 2 years of age by an ACVO Veterinarian. OFA are to be performed after 2 years of age. This guarantee is null and void if the dog is bred and produces a registered litter before the appropriate clearances are performed.
Siberian Huskies generally have a life span of 12-14 years. The homes where the puppies are placed, should be prepared to make the dog a part of their family, and as such, be committed to the new family member for the entire life of the dog.
We do not take PayPal or Credit card payments.
