Happy April Fool’s day! Can you believe
it…we have now been open for 6 MONTHS!!! I know that most of you
have been fooled by the weather this last couple of weeks around here,
but it is really suppose to be Spring! And with Spring comes our
new hours…
WE ARE NOW OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK - 10 – 4.
OPEN IN THE EVENINGS WHEN WE HAVE SCHEDULED CLASSES, CLOSED MAJOR HOLIDAYS
(i.e. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, etc.)
New fabrics have started to arrive that
were ordered at the February Wholesale show as well as some others that
are being released for April from MODA and other mills. There is
also a new installment of the Nobu Fujiyama “Geisha” line that will be
here in the next couple of days.
For the month of April, PATTERNS AND BOOKS
will be 10% off. (In addition to your 10% punch card, 10% guild or charity
sewing discount AND your 10% class merchandise discount!) That means
you could be saving as much as 40% on your purchases!!! The more
you buy, the more you save.
Classes: Here’s what’s
coming up
In The Bag: Laura Denison has made
original patterns to make these fun and easy quilted bags, totes, purses
and pouches. These bags are simple to piece and you can’t seem to
make just one! This is a 2 part class.
Tuesday Evening: April 8th and April
15th, Times: 6 pm—9 pm. $45.00
Open Sew Sundays: April 6th
and April 20th, Times: 10 am—4 pm. $20.00 each session.
Open Sew Mondays: April 7th and April
21st, Times: 6 pm—9 pm. $10.00 each session or just $5.00 if you
are adding this session to Sunday’s Open Sew.
Open Sew Thursdays: April 3rd, 10th,
17th and April 2rth, Times: 10 am—2 pm. $15.00 each session.
STARTING IN MAY 2008
Mariner’s Compass—Block of the Month:
This class was so popular in January that we have added another one starting
in May: Using Brenda Henning’s book and CD, Learn how to piece those
skinny spikes with surprising ease and accuracy using paper foundations.
Laura Denison will be teaching this class. 1st Saturday of the month
for 6 months (May—October) 1 pm—4 pm. $25.00 each session or $125.00
for all 6 (save $25.00)

Travel the World: Join us on
an adventure around the world with Laura Denison’s Passport Series.
This series will be held typically the 2nd Sunday of the month. Starting
May 11th, Times: Noon—4 pm.
$35.00 per session. Patterns and
tools additional as needed.
MAY 17TH ONLY:
Joyce Becker’s Little Landscapes: Joyce will be teaching a one day
seminar based on her landscape designs. More info will be available
later as well as a sample in the shop. Space is limited, so sign
up early. Saturday: May 17th, Time: 10 am—4 pm. $60.00 (Includes
a Box Lunch).

Travel the World: Join us on

This series will be held typically the 2nd Sunday of the month. June’s

SULKY OF AMERICA FOR 2 SESSIONS MONDAY,
JUNE 9TH. INSPIRE A CHILD: BRING YOUR CHILDREN AGES 10—18 to
learn the fun of creative sewing. Times: 1:30 pm—4:00 pm OR 6:00
pm—8:30 pm. Adults: $20.00; Children: $10.00 when accompanied by
a parent or guardian. Free gifts for attending, a $15.00 dollar value,
and a free Door Prize Drawing!
The Ins and Outs of Log Cabin:
Laura Denison’s Woven Log Cabin Quilt is truly a work of art. Come
join us for this 2-day weekend mini retreat. If you like the look
of weaving, then this is the quilt for you! Saturday and Sunday,
June 20th and 21st. Times: Noon—4 pm. $70.00 Pattern
Additional. THIS IS A GREAT ALTERNATIVE TO SHOP HOP. WE WILL
BE PART OF SHOP HOP IN 2009 AFTER WE HAVE BEEN OPEN FOR 1 YEAR.

Charity Events:

Project Linus quilts will be picked up later this week. Drop your
finished projects off for the next delivery.

April 1, 2008 marks the day for the drawing of the South County Cats quilt
raffle being held at Horizon Pet Supply in Black Diamond. We will
let you know who the winner was.

April 25, 2008 Re/Max Realty and Children’s Miracle Network (Children’s
Hospital) will be having an auction at Olson Mansion, Maple Valley, WA
to raise money for the Hospital. There will be a quilt there to bid
on made by yours truly! Contact Re/Max Realty South at 425-432-4414
for donations and ticket information.
Guild Info: The following Guilds have
asked me to pass on meeting information. If you join a guild, I will
set you up with a 10% merchandise discount. (In addition to your punch

Crystal Quilters Quilt Guild of Enumclaw and Crystal Quilters Too:
Meetings are the 1st Friday of the month at 1:00 p.m. at the Enumclaw Public
Library. The Crystal Quilters Too (a satellite group) meets the 1st
Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Enumclaw Public Library.

Cedar River Quilters Guild: Meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month
at the Salvation Army, 720 S Tobin Street, Renton, WA 98057-2127 from 6
p.m. to 9 p.m. The first Tuesday we work on preemie quilts for Valley
Medical Center, projects or hold classes. The third Tuesday is a
regular meeting with a small Make 'n Take project or skill sharing.
