Happy Spring:
Can you believe the SPRING we have had so far…amazing! And now that it is June, it means that WESTERN WASHINGTON SHOP HOP 2009 is in just a couple of weeks away.
We are stocking up the store for the “big” rushJ and still have some great items on the sale table before they go away the 24th…Save as much as 75% off regular prices… we need that table for cutting fabric!
If you haven’t had the chance to order your SHOP HOP fabric, we are taking pre-orders (limited to 1st come, 1st serve and what stock is on hand). The SHOP HOP posters are now here and in stock ready for purchase. We are still waiting for pins. SHOP HOP fabric is selling at our store for $8.99 per yard. We can process credit cards over the phone and will hold your order for pick up any time after 9:00 a.m. on the 24th of June.
Pass Ports for this year’s SHOP HOP are available to be printed off of the WESTERN WASHINGTON QUILT 2009 SHOP HOP site at: WesternWashingtonQuiltShopHop.com
If you don’t have a printer, we have some here in the shop if you want to pick one up before SHOP HOP starts. We also have the children’s pass port printed off too.

Our Open Sew Times for June are as follows:
Sunday June 14th, 10 to 4
Monday June 15th 6 to 9
Monday June 29th 6 to 9
And every Thursday 10 to 2 except for June 25th due to SHOP HOP
We will be closed the following days in June: Sunday, June 7th for a Family Function Day and Sunday, June 21st for Father’s Day.
Upcoming classes are as follows:
Darlene Girton’s “Machine Quilting for Beyond Beginners” – This class is the next installment of Darlene’s quilting techniques. That's right ladies, install your darning foot, drop those feed dogs and see what you and your sewing machine can do. Building from the techniques of the Beginning Class, where the introduction to free motion quilting was started, this class will continue to build your confidence and expand your capabilities. Bring a finished top (lap size or smaller) so you can design your own quilting format. “Let the quilt speak to you”. A fun time to be had by all! This will be held June 13th, 10 – 2. $40.00 plus class book. Other materials will be provided.
Laura Denison’s Passport Series: These are great classes for techniques and a wide variety of styles to fit into any genera. Sign up for one or several. $35.00 per class, held during the summer 10 - 2 on the following dates:
July 12th – Gaucho Poncho Quilt from Buenos Aires, Argentina
August 30th – Return Voyage…If you have started a Pass Port Quilt and need time to finish it, have questions or want start one of the previously released patterns, this is a great time to get some of those UFO’s finished. Patterns are additional.
Remember there is a 10% merchandise discount on materials purchased for the classes.
“Magic Stack ‘N’ Whack” taught by Darlene Girton – Using the techniques of Bethany Reynolds’s “Magic Stack ‘N’ Whack”, Darlene will be teaching you how to make these great kaleidoscope designs. With using fabric that has a minimum of a 12” repeat, you never know how they will turn out and no 2 are alike. July 18th,10 – 1. $35.00 plus book and additional tools as needed.
**Currently Full** Nancy Lee Chong – Known for her Hawaiian Quilting and 2 Fabric Appliqué is tentatively set for October 4th from 10—4:30 p.m. This is a wonderful 1 day Hawaiian Quilting class. Class size is limited to 10 students. $95.00 plus materials and supplies. If you haven’t sent in your fee, do so now so we have a confirmed total of students. We are taking names for a waiting list if there are any cancellations.
New Batiks have arrived from Batik Textiles, Island Batiks, Benartex, Hoffman and Moda. Hoffman’s Bali Pops are here and going quickly. Great colors of 40 pre-cut 2 1/2” strips. Several new kits are made up…Gotham from Benartex, New fabrics from the Debbie Mumm collection: Apple Harvest…and yes, new Christmas fabrics are arriving from Hoffman, Moda and Makower UK.
